— It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our cherished mother on March 5, 2010, at home. Born in Halifax, May 3, 1922, she was the oldest daughter of the late Hilda and Harold Baker. She was an active member of Bayers Road United Baptist Church since its inception. She served on several committees, as Deacon, Social Convener, and sang in the choir for over 50 years. She served several times as president of the Woman's Missionary Society, had a Provincial Life membership as well as a Dominion Life Membership of the U.B.W.M. She was an avid camper and belonged to the Kingfisher Campers. She was a member of the Friendship Seniors Group and Formula 4 and 55 Plus Group of the Salvation Army (Fairview). She was a member of the Nor-West Seniors Group and chaired the Craft Group where many items were made for the Cancer Society. An avid craft person who enjoyed crocheting, knitting, sewing etc. She will be sadly missed by these organizations. She worked several years with Reitmans and over 20 years with Sears. She is survived by her children, Harold, Simms Settlement; Len (Lynndell), Mount Uniacke; Diane, Riverview, N.B.; Eric, Halifax. She is also survived by sister, Marguerite Pinkham, Halifax; brothers, Raymond, Halifax; Ralph (Connie) Medway, Mass. She was proud of her grandchildren, Scott, Kim, Roxanne, Mireille, Tanya, Pam and Kayla, and prouder still of her great-grandchildren, Maggie, Gabrielle, Reed, Isaac, Courtney, Megan, Justyne, Vianne, Hilton, Jamie and Rebecca. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Lloyd and brother, Douglas Baker. Visitation 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Sunday in Atlantic Funeral Home, 6552 Bayers Rd., Halifax. Funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Monday in Bayers Road United Baptist Church with a reception to follow in the parish hall. Interment will take place in Fairview Lawn Cemetery. Donations in Frankie's memory may be made to the Benevolent Fund of Bayers Road United Baptist Church, Canadian Cancer Society or to a charity of your choice
