Mrs. Joan Rita Kizell (Cowan)

January 13, 1933  -  March 8, 2010


KIZELL, JOAN RITA (nee COWAN)

After a valiant struggle, peacefully at the Kingston General Hospital, on Monday, March 8, 2010 at the age of 77 years young. Predeceased by her cherished husband Raymond Harold Kizell (2003). Loving and devoted mother of Richard (Cheryl), Naomi Levy (Jeffrey) and Robert (Samantha). Caring and supportive Bubbie to Rachel, Valerie, Erin, Jonathan, Sarah and Hannah. Predeceased by her parents Morris and Eunice (Breslin) Cowan and her brother Don Cowan. Remembered by her sister Pearl Seetner (Barney) and sister-in-law Ellen Cowan. Will be dearly missed by her companion Erling Alstrup.

Avid bridge player, boater, curler, book club participant and volunteer extraordinaire with a zest for people and living. Will be sorely missed by many long standing friends and relatives.

Funeral Service will be held at Beth Israel Congregation, 116 Centre Street, on Tuesday, March 9, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Beth Israel Cemetery. Donations in memory of Joan may be made to the Joan and Ray Kizell Trust Fund at Beth Israel Congregation or University Hospital Kingston Foundation - Together We Can, Campaign.

Shiva will be observed at 51 Glencoe Crescent until Sunday evening, for details call 613-549-0190.
