So sorry to hear of Lena's passing away.  She was a great lady and will be missed by you all.  It just seems like yesterday, when I lived in Windsor , that she and Ivanhoe were going on a road trip, like they loved to do.. Time sure passes by quickly. Thinking of you all at this sad time.

Title: Fond memories

Comment:

My mother called to tell me of Lena's passing and I am overcome with fond memories of the time I spent visiting her home with  my friend Donna. Her energy and fun manner impressed me and she always made me feel right at home. I hope that as time passes the pain and sorrow of today will be replaced with fond memories that everyone has of such a fine pillar of the family.

With much love, Dianne Porter ( Swindall) Charlottetown, PEI

We were so sorry to hear the news of the passing of your Mom, but what a great accomplishment to reach 100 years old. The stories she would have  shared with you  through out the years would be unbelievable. Even though you had the great fortune to have her in your life for so long, it still hurts the same when they are gone. Please know our thoughts are with you during this time.

Title: I Remember

Comment:

As a small child I recall my Grandmother's close relationship with Lena.  How Lena would come and pickup Grandma and off they would go on their travels.  Then there were those days where I would go in the car with my Mother and see a car travelling about the streets of Windsor with no one at the wheel.  Then at a stop sign or red light I would see little Lena at the wheel, hands at the 10 and 3 position, barely able to see over the dashboard,  looking straight ahead with a very business like expression on her face.  But as our paths crossed she would recognize us and she would always have a wave and a smile larger than life.

As I have moved on in years I have forgotten much about my childhood but I will forever have that memory of Lena, the "Speedster of Windsor" who never broke her 40 Km/hr speed limit.

Thanks for the memory.

To the Rafuse family our deepest condolences.

Bradley, Denise and Joshua Harvey

Title: To Uncle Marvin

Comment:

I'm so sorry I didn't hear about your mother sooner. I still remember Aunt Iva saying there goes Lena to spend the night at Anna's place. She was who she was and that is what kept her going. I hope we all can be that determine. It was a great thrill be able to meet your mother and to see her so active in everything she did. I will always cherish the few memories I have of her.

Love you lots, Terry Bronnimann
