James Peter Carmichael, 84, of ProTem Health Services and formerly of Coronation Dr., passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 12, 2008. Born November 29, 1923, in North Sydney, NS, he was the son of the late Grace (Jackson) and John George Carmichael. He worked at the Moncton Airport as a Radar and Electronics Technician for the Department of Transport until his retirement in 1978 after 35 years of service. He was a member of the Moncton Area and Moncton Seniors Amateur Radio Club as well as a member of Mount Royal United Church. He will be sadly missed by his two daughters, Wendy (Ric) Christie of Kitchener ON and Claudia (John) Logan of Moncton and grandchildren; Jillian Christie and Emily and Grant Logan. He is also survived by two brothers, Gordon (Doris) and George (Ruth), sister-in-law, Mildred, as well as many nieces and nephews. Jim was predeceased by his wife, Blanche (Keeping) in 1996 and his brother, Vernon in 1985. Visiting will be held at Fair Haven Funeral Home on Sunday, June 15, 2008 from 7-9 pm. A memorial service will take place at Mount Royal United Church on Monday, June 16, 2008 at 3:30 pm. Arrangements entrusted with Fair Haven Funeral Home, 1177 Salisbury Road, Moncton (506) 852-3530.
